Middle Age Blues ©

Parody Lyrics by Glick & Phillips ; Tune "Summertime Blues" by Eddie Cochran

I’m a gonna make a fuss, I’m a gonna make a holler

I’m trying to make a living just a working for a dollar

I was an academic star in high school 30 years ago

I forgot almost everything that I used to know

Sometimes I wonder what I’m a gonna do

‘Cause there ain’t no cure for the middle age blues

I gained a bit of weight, my libido is a laggin’

I traded in my Mustang for a Volvo station wagon

My kids have all got kids, there’s no hair on my head

I never thought I’d wake up with a grandma in my bed

Sometimes…

There’s no graphite in my pencil and I got Alzheimer’s now

I took my Viagra but I can’t remember how

My hair’s sprayed on, my teeth held in with glue

My wife says "Get a lawyer"; my kids say "Get a clue"

Sometimes…

I got remote control; I’m a real couch potato

Got a wide screen TV; I’ll do the yard work later

I called my family doctor; this is what I heard

"Hello. You have reached Corilion Health Care. Your call is very important to us; if you would like to schedule an appointment press 1; if you would like to speak to a nurse press 2; if you would like to speak with a doctor press "Oh Yeah Right"

Sometimes…
